The word is full of adventurers who explore the planet and who doesn’t dream of being one every once in a while? We’ve collected a list full of movies with adventure stories that take you all over the world. Sole journeys or together, all these movies have their own incredible story to learn from. Either get inspired or decide never to go to these places (not all are about fairy tales) but enjoy watching them safely from your couch.

A mountaineer tries to conquer a Himalayan peak but World War 2 ends his attempt. He ends up in Tibet befriending the Dalai Lama.

A young mountain climber finds himself trapped in a canyon in Utah and has to consider serious measures to survive.

A group of Siberian Sovjet workcamp escapees try to survive the endless trek to freedom in the Himalayas.

180 Degrees South (2010)

A documentary of Jeff Johnson who takes a trip to Patagonia to follow in the footsteps of his heroes Yvon Chouinard and Doug Tompkins.

Encounters at the end of the world (2007)

A documentary from a filmmaker who travels to Antartica, to find the people risking their lives to study this impressive area.

Touching the Void (2003)

A documentary of two men attempting to summit the almost impossible Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes.
